Its that time of year again...Wait its not Nov '11

So Nano in july and Aug. Its Camp nanowrimo! http://www.campnanowrimo.org/

My idea for this is nopt to start something new I'll save that for Nano in november But for now I am going to write the second half of Gift of the Goddess my Nano piece from Nano '10.

The Synopsis for this being: What does a goddess with immortality and the world truly need? A young boy, heir to a dead and unwanted line want with a goddess? An outcast of her own people what does she look for in a goddess ran world? A child? Power? Death? Love? Any of these or none of these. It all depends on the Gift of the Goddess.

I'll write a new post when I get back into the flow of writing it. All I know that this camp will produce some fun things to write!

Update on Script and Dissertation

Hmm 12th March. Dissertation is going slowly but its coming together nicely. I am currently breaking down Vladimir Propps character functions down and placing them within Lord of the Rings and Avatar. Once this is complete I shall be moving onto the Three act structure. Once the analysis of films are complete it will move onto the part of my Dissertation i am looking very forward to writing. Game studies and also the three act structure and also Propp within a Video Game. There shall also be somethings on MMORPGS.

As for my script that I am writing for University it has started and i am currently 5 pages into the story and it is going well. I am slightly struggling on the fact that it is not a typical war/sci fi film with large consent fights and more of a psychological script.

Strange huh..

After sitting for awhile doing Dissertation research I realised how connected my university work and things I work on outside the Uni background have begun to link together. I have to thank my tutor Kingsley and his lecture today on how he has been able to write some of his of papers that he has written.

Strange how all my things come together..

6 Days till NaNoWriMo and Dissertations..

6 days to the most creative sleep deprived crazy month of my life. The month of November aka the month of NaNoWriMo.

What is NaNoWriMo?  www.nanowrimo.org

Nanowrimo or Nano for short is a month in the year that hundreds of thousands of avid writers begin to write a 50,000 word novel start in a month. This will be my third year doing it as I started in my first year of Univerity and fell 7,000 words short. Last year I won with a nice total of 62,089 words. This year due to the people of Cornwall and my good friends I am going to be going 80,000 words.

Nano this year falls at a manic part of my third year with the research phase of my Dissertation. It also clashes with the Screenwriting prep part but both my nano and screenplay are sharing an idea so bonus there.  Why am I doing this crazy event at the same time? Because I want to have some sort of fun in the next month of Dissertation hell.

My Dissertation itself will be looking at Video Game Narrative with references to film. More on that to come.
